The digital imaging revolution has created some attendant side problems - like counterfeiting. To combat this it appears that the Sercret Service in cooperation with several of the main printer suppliers has a covert printing sub-routine run on every digital image, which captures the serial number of the printer as well as time and date printed as a bunch of small dispersed yellow dots. I printed on an HP printer this afternoon and found the little yellow buggers. It requires good lighting and a 10x scope (jeweler's scope).
