Lenten Post Day 11

Saturday, February 19

Deuteronomy 11:18-28, Hebrews 5:1-10, John 4:1-26

Q. 27. Wherein did Christ’s humiliation consist?

A. Christ’s humiliation consisted in his being born, and that in a low condition, made under the law, undergoing the miseries of this life, the wrath of God: and the cursed death of the cross; in being buried, and continuing under the power of death for a time.

Q. 28. Wherein consisteth Christ’s exaltation?

A. Christ’s exaltation consisteth in his rising again from the dead on the third day, in ascending up into heaven, in sitting at the right hand of God the Father, and in coming to judge the world at the last day.

Prayer: O Lord, let me hear of your steadfast love in the morning, for in you I put my trust. Teach me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul. Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. Let your good spirit lead me on a level path. (Psalm 143:8, 10)

Reflection: Jesus talks of the living water.  Living water in this case is a metaphor for the Holy Spirit and eternal salvation.  Read more about this here.
