Lenten Post Day 19

Sunday, February 27

Jeremiah 6:9-15, I Corinthians 6:12-20, Mark 5:1-20

Q. 43. What is the preface to the Ten Commandments?

A. The preface to the Ten Commandments is in these words: “I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.”

Q. 44. What doth the preface to the Ten Commandments teach us?

A. The preface to the Ten Commandments teacheth us that because God is the Lord, and our God and Redeemer, therefore we are bound to keep all his commandments.

Prayer: As a deer longs for flowing streams, so my soul longs for you, O God. My soul thirsts for you, for you are the living God. When shall I come and behold your face? (Psalm 42:1-2)

Reflection: Our focus should be on God. God is with us always. His Spirit is within us. Our bodies are temples to God’s Holy Spirit. We should treat that temple with honor and not defile it.
